Millions of Kenyans rely on it to send and receive money, pay bills and purchase goods. However, the increasing use of mobile transactions has also created opportunities for cybercriminals to target users through fraud and other online attacks.<br>Cybersecurity threats affecting mobile money users include phishing messages, identity theft, SIM-swap fraud and fake calls from individuals pretending to be customer care agents. Such activities can lead to the loss of money and expose customers\u2019 personal information to criminals.<br>Mastercard\u2019s concerns highlight the importance of cooperation among financial institutions, mobile service providers, regulators and customers in fighting cybercrime.
