American streaming sensation Darren Jason Watkins Jr, popularly known as IShowSpeed, has once again put Kenya in the global spotlight.
This is after he reconnected with Kenyan content creator Bradley Marongo on Friday, February 13, during his first livestream following the end of his widely followed Speed does Africa tour.
The broadcast marked Speed’s first stream since completing his nearly month-long tour across more than 20 African countries which included Kenya.
During the livestream recap, the hugely popular streamer surprised fans when he placed a video call to Marongo, popularly known as “Gen Z Goliath” and widely recognised online for his towering physical stature.

Marongo responded warmly, telling the American streamer he was doing well before urging him to return to Kenya. Speed quickly embraced the suggestion.The exchange turned lighthearted when Gen Z Goliath revealed a surprise gift one of his oversized shoes. Speed laughed, expressing amazement at the gesture and thanking him for the memorable keepsake.

Beyond Gen Z Goliath, Speed in the stream reconnected with several personalities he met across the continent, including creators from Nigeria, Uganda, Senegal and Zimbabwe.
He also reacted to remarks from Ghana’s President John Mahama about his visit and hinted at returning to Africa in the future.
Speaking to Yahoo Sports Daily hosts Caroline Fenton and Jason Fitz on Wednesday, the streamer had described his Kenyan visit as the most impactful experience of his entire tour, recalling the massive turnout of fans in Nairobi.
He revealed that tens of thousands gathered to watch him stream in Kenya a moment he said left him stunned by the scale of support.During his Kenya stop, Speed visited Nairobi National Park, explored local neighbourhoods, experienced matatu culture, and sampled Kenyan food.
The streamer who boasts over 50.9 million subscribers on his Youtube channel also met local creators including Marongo, whose towering presence quickly became one of the most talked-about highlights of the visit.
