The National Treasury has announced new dates for public hearings on the 2027/28 national budget, giving Kenyans an opportunity to contribute to the government’s spending and revenue plans for the next financial year.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, the Treasury said the hearings will be conducted across various regions of the country to collect views from citizens, businesses, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders. The exercise is part of the government’s commitment to public participation in the budget-making process.
Treasury officials noted that feedback gathered during the hearings will help shape budget priorities and inform decisions on resource allocation. Key areas expected to be discussed include economic growth, job creation, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and support for businesses.
The Treasury urged members of the public to take part in the consultations and submit their proposals. The hearings are expected to play a crucial role in ensuring that the 2027/28 budget reflects the needs and aspirations of Kenyans while supporting the country’s economic development agenda.
